In support of the Indiana State University’s Operations and Supply Chain Management program, IDS hosted a site visit with ISU students and faculty. During the visit, students were able to explore an operational fulfillment center with IDS staff and ask questions about supply chains in the real world. After the facility tour, students sat down with IDS staff to learn about the different functional areas within a fulfillment company.
Mark Defabis, IDS CEO, was one of the speakers to interact with the ISU students. “It is always rewarding to speak to students as they prepare to enter the private sector.,” said Mark. “Today’s logistics and supply chain programs are excellent at equipping students with the technical skills they need to enter the industry but what I have emphasized as they prepare for prospective job interviews, is to make sure you highlight their leadership skills. Prospective employers are looking for individuals who are true leaders and can use their technical and leadership skills to make a big impact on the organization.”
IDS strives to find meaningful ways to give back to the local community. Engaging with young minds and motivating them about the industry not only supports our local communities but strengthens the supply chain industry as a whole.
